SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS COMING DECEMBER 12 - 15
The “Little Black Dress” affair for Seeds of Learning was a huge success, due to organizer Dee McPeek and also to the men and women who modeled clothing, jewelry and accessories. A surprise show-stopper of the evening were the spectacular men who donned women’s clothing to strut their stuff down the runway, all for fun and in support of Seeds. Curtains Up Pagosa! worked with Dee and her male models to outfit and accessorize the men to the hilt! CUP has an extensive costume library, developed over the past 25 years; they partner with the schools and other non-profits in providing costume support for events and productions. Shown in full costume as they prepare for the evening are runway models King Campbell on the left and Jim Stacy on the right. Bold, attractive and brave! Watch for CUP events around town as they celebrate their 25 year anniversary.
Twenty – Five years! Hard to believe, but Curtains Up Pagosa! has been performing, producing, mentoring, and making magic on the Pagosa stage for almost a quarter of a century. We are taking full advantage of this exciting milestone by starting the celebration now! Since 1989, CUP has been in service to our schools and community as the cornerstone of supporting the arts in our schools and bringing the best of the performing arts to our community. Known first as Pagosa Springs Music Boosters, and now as Curtains Up Pagosa!, we continue to strive for excellence and off extraordinary opportunities to cast and audiences alike. We are excited to announce our upcoming shows: "Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, A Musical", by Tim Kelley and Bill Frankoeur in December; and the highly sought after and recently released "Jesus Christ Superstar" by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. CUP will also be offering specialty concerts, house concerts a gala concert evening and other celebratory events starting this Fall and continuing through 2014, all in support of their silver anniversary year. We welcome "Silverado" 2014!

2012 CUP Scholarship Winner - Max Miller
My name is Max Miller and I am a CUP scholar from the class of 2012. This past year I attended the University of Northern Colorado as a Musical Theatre major. My freshmen year of college could not have gone better. I had the chance to take acting and dancing classes for the first time, study privately for voice lessons, and even take voice training classes. From this year alone, I grew tremendously as a performer and was since able to portray that progress most recently in CUP's production of "Pippin".
Curtains Up Pagosa has begun a new scholarship program in support of vocal studies and training called “Danna’s Song”, named after dear friend and longtime CUP supporter Danna Laverty, whose family has been involved with Music Boosters at first and now Curtains Up for almost a dozen years. We lost Danna this year, but not her memory and spirit as we continue to work with her family with great love and heart. Our first vocal scholarship was awarded to Laith Scherer, second to Hayley Hudson, and our current student is Johannah Laverty. Each student is given ten lessons through Curtains Up Pagosa; most continue their studies after their scholarship gift. Curtains Up is committed to expanding the performing arts experience in Pagosa! Thanks to all our supporters that enable us to continue to expand our opportunities.
